That's art! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!.... IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES... Sometimes interesting..sometimes inspiring..sometimes frightening...!
Well What is art ? I wonder. What is commercialisation of art? Why is that what we create becomes so important that we forget basic human qualities of humility and acceptance?
ART is an artiste's identity...I understand...but still...I think an artiste is a human being first with faculties of logic...reasoning and point of view... His logic...his dream...his point of view only gets converted into something later....
WE ARE PROUD OF THE FACT THAT WE CAN PAINT BETTER..OR WRITE BETTER OR SING BETTER OR DANCE BETTER than someone else and we are happy about it! We price ourselves so high then that the very art that made us kills us!! That is commercialisation of art.
A not so well painted calendar figure of LORD SRI RAMA is painted for a purpose. For a calendar or for a photo frame. That is not commercialisation of art. Art for the sake of money is fine..but art that has ego and pride embedded either in paint or in text or in notes of a song...is true commercialisation of art and that is what we must protest!!

ego, definitely yes...thats bad... audience will reject any ego filled work more often than not. But how do u spot pride embedded in any work? I mean, we can spot ego (for example Kidnap which took its audience for granted)in an artwork (not even sure if kidnap can be called so)... we can spot attitude (which can be a good thing in most cases... like NAOD itself or No Smoking)but how to spot pride in a work? examples? I am sure its something different than being proud of ur work...
Art with intention of money making is fine... but that shdn't be the only intention. Money making can be one of the intentions.. I feel any art with only money making as the intention is also commercialization, and we shd definitely reject such works... what say?
